About Carlos Eilo
As a child, I could have been considered very imaginative, spending hours drawing animals, fantastical characters, creatures, and mythical beasts, bringing my imagination to life on paper. My passion for art grew naturally, and my talent was soon noticed by my art teacher, who encouraged my parents to let me attend after-school lessons so I could fully develop my skills. I continued to create throughout my school years, and in Year 12, my major artwork for the art elective was selected for ArtExpress and later acquired by the Wilkins Collection, marking the sale of my first artwork at just 18 years old.
After high school, I struggled to find my path and lost touch with my art as a result, believing it held no value for me or anyone else. Life took a difficult turn, hitting rockbottom—I faced incarceration, probation, rehabilitation, and repeated mistakes—but through these challenges, I discovered a relationship with Jesus. It was through Him that I found purpose, hope, and the courage to return to the art I had once abandoned.
Over the past six years, I have dedicated myself to creating commissioned work and rebuilding my art practice with intention and meaning. Every piece I create now is more than art—it is a service to others, a celebration of faith, and a testament to the power of resilience and purpose.
